Esteban worked for the military as a prison chaplain in Spain before immigrating to Canada on Richard Sinclair's request. Through his wife, Sinclair had grown to know the man during his travels to Madrid and, after realizing the usefulness of having a man of Esteban's enthusiasm in Marcellis' vicinity, was instantly struck by the idea of arranging the priest's immigration to Canada.

Esteban, on top of being a religious zealot, is an avid supporter of the Mutant Research Movement. He believes that the coming of the mutants is the result of man's sinful descent into decadence and that the mutants themselves are on Earth to purge the land. He takes particular interest in Marcellis and has impressed upon him his own ideals. Esteban has followed Marcy to the United States and can currently be found in a New York cathedral.

Tragedy struck when she was found to have an almost unique genetic disorder which left her unable to regulate her own body temperature and a state of almost permanent hypothermia.

Her parents spared no expense in searching for a cure, eventually having a specially heat-regulated suit which she had to wear at all times for her own survival. Surprisingly her disorder seemingly rectified itself after a few years but this was simply the emergence of the first of Jacqueline’s mutant abilities. She was maintaining her temperature by stealing heat from others.

Her parents may have loved her too much for she grew up to be completely self-centred and almost completely devoid of compassion. Five years ago she repaid her parents love by murdering them and thus inheriting their estate. Renaming herself Jacqueline Frost she used her wealth to emigrate to the United States and start a new career as an actress and singer, going by the stage name of Ice Queen.

Now she’s got connections in local government and wields a great deal of popularity and influence. Few suspect her less legal activities including her extensive organized crime network.

Creed Mutant (Physical Manifestation)
Affiliation Meta-X
Nationality British
Description Average height and build; large Mohawk; several tribal sleeve tattoos down both arms.
Character notes

Walter was born to a middle class family in the small village of Swaffham, England. Life was normal for a while, but on a class trip to London in his early years, he noticed a street dancer on the sidewalk. After about 30 minutes, the teacher noticed he was missing, but he had not moved from his spot. Before the Teacher dragged him from the dancer, he asked what the the man was doing. He said that he was practicing a martial art called Capoeira and gave him the name of a studio where he trained.

Lucky for him, his parents moved to London not too long after that, almost a block from the studio where he wanted to attend. After much begging and pleading, his parents agreed to let him attend. That was his life until he was 18. Constant training and schooling was his life for the longest time, but he was glad for it. Not only did he get to dance and practice a martial art, alot of the training had to do with music as well.

But, when he was 18, he had to find a job, and after performing for a little while on the street for money, someone walked up to him and offered him a job that paid a lot of money. After talking a bit, he agreed to a trail run. Going to the place that the man mentioned at the time he said, Walt soon found out what he signed up for.

He had been bought by a London Gang for fight in gladiatorial combat. But after his first fight, he found out he enjoyed it...showing off his skills in a fight was the biggest thrill he had. Not to mention it paid a hige amount of money.

And what did he do with the money? Tried to get more money. Gambling became a huge pastime for him, and after finding out that poker was kind of like Capoeira, in the fact that you had to read and fool your opponent, he latched onto it.

After a few years of successful ring fights, the gang noticed his potential and hired him on as a Bodyguard for their higher ups, but as he did this job, he fell into the fast lane lifestyle, incliding drugs and woman. His favorite? Heroine. Most of his money eventually started to go there and his life started to go to crap after that.

It took a horrible night of withdrawal in a dirty bathroom stall for him to realize that maybe this was a bad lifestyle. The next day, after he cleaned up, he applied for a Visa to the United states to become a citizen.

2 years later, here he is, trying to stay clean and out of his old lifestyle. The band really helped him with that and Rosie has been rising him to stay that way.

Name Alan Griffin
Creed Human

Nationality Irish
Description 6’2”, 182 lbs, short black hair, steel blue eyes.
Character notes

Alan is Bran’s twin brother. Even though they aren’t identical twins they could easily be mistaken for each other at first sight if it weren’t for the minor differences in their height/weight and the different eye colour. Alan is right-handed, though, and contrary to their similarity in appearance their personalities are quite different.

Unlike Bran, Alan was not born with the X-gene. During Bran’s five-year stay at the mansion Alan had visited him a couple of times. Alan works as a management representative for the Griffin publishing company and travels a lot.

Creed Mutant (Necromancy)
Affiliation Meta-X
Nationality American
Description Short, average build. Raven hair set into dreadlocks and colored with streaks of red and blonde; short nails; glasses.
Character notes

Kassy is not bad off in her life. Daughter of a wealthy Fortune 100 CEO and his wife, she was given everything she needed in life. Her father, the good CEO he was, was never really around, and her mother, constantly worried that her husband was cheating on her, was a depressive alcholic. Yannes, the elder of the trio, was more responcible, taking care of the other two while their mother was passed out on the couch from that night's drinking fest. As they grew up, they each devolped readicaly diffrent personalities, Yannes going the smart student way, excelling in each of her classes. Kassy went the Goth way, angered at her parents rejection adn obvious neglect ot the trio, while Gloria went the way of the althlete, using her natural prowess to try and forget the horrors of the household. But the one thing they held onto was each other. Each night, they had dinner with each other, they went out clubbing, dancing, shopping, and the like to try and keep each other as close as possible.

Then, came the day they would never forget. The whole family was walking back from a resturant on the rare occasion that they were all there. Her mother had a bit too much to drink and her father was helping her to the car. The girls were chatting and laughing, glad to have a small moment of peace. But a shout from the other end of the sidewalk revealed 3 hooded figures walking toward them, hands in pockets. The fathers, in a rare spurt of fatherlyness, told the girls to get in the car and call the cops. The hooded figures walked right up to the father and started to yell at him abotu cheating or something. Apparently, he really was cheating on the mother...but these guys were pissed about it. They started to beat on the father untill he stopped moving. The girls screaming in the backseat of the car drew their attention, and they drug them all out, evil grins on their faces. The mother, who was still very drunk, threw up all over one of the gang members.

In a moment that none of the girls forgot, the offended gang member shot their mother in the back of the head. At that moment, 2 powers surfaced. Both Yanne's and Kassy's. Yannes, in a fit of rage, arched electricity out of her hands and into the man holding her. He flew back several feet and into a mailbox, denting it. Kassy, looking at the man, somehow knew he was dead. She felt the puddle of blood forming at his feet. She knew the man was dead, but she pointed her eyes at the corpse, wishing that she had someway to save her family. He stood up and Gloria screamed, pointing at the part of his head that was not there anymore.

She looked at the man standing up and instictivly knew that she was in control. mentaly ordering the execution of the two other offenders, she watched with a little satisfaction as the corpse turned and fired at the gang members. Gloria had stopped screaming, but started to cry, holding her sister's hands in her hands. Yanne's hands here badly burned, the flesh still smoking from the lightning. Yannes had passed out, the sheer power that released from her exhausting her too.

But a gasp from over in the corner made all of them jump. Their father was alive!!Rushing over, Kassy tried to pick him up, but after struggling with his weight, rememebred the lifeless eyes looking at her. He was waiting...for orders. Ordering him to pick her father up, the corpse walked over and lifted him with ease.

Gloria gasped next, shuffling away from her sister and curling next to the car. Tears had formed in her eyes. But the burns on Yanne's hands were gone. Gloria was a healer....

Sirens disrupted their little get together, and a mental alarm flared from the corpse beside her. He knew that the sirens were bad. He also knew a shortcut to get out of here. But time was of the essence. Kassy looked to the stub of a head her mother's corpse had, and tried to revive her, but nothing happened. Tears startting to well up, she ordered the other corpse to lead the way. Picking up yannes (she wasn't heavy at all), she pushed Gloria to start running.

They made it out oaky and dropped their dad off at the hospital, Kassy stashing the corpse in a small bus hand ordering him to stay put. After a few hours, the doctor came out and told them he'd be okay....They cried...

Now, a few years later, Yannes had moved away to college, burying her powers and trying to forget them. The father had remarried several times, realizing what he'd lost that night. Gloria started to explore her powers a bit more, wondering at her ability to heal and her extents. Kassy moved out. She had enough of that blonde bimbo dad married. Telling Gloria that she could visit whenever, she found a Job as a bartender at a small bar and a small apartment above the bar. The catch? She had to prove she was a mutant. As of now, Tyronne (she learned his name) stays in her room unless she needs him. Things are going well for her...

Name Dr. Joseph Kaine
Creed Mutant
Affiliation None, condones the co-existence of mutants and humans
Nationality African-American
Description Tall, wide-shouldered, short black hair and black eyes. Wears clean suits or simple garments of expensive taste. Good-natured. In his early forties.
Character notes

Kaine is an extremely learned individual with distinctly libertarian views and the ingenuity to put them to work. After teaching microbiology for nearly ten years, Kaine travelled the world and, after being satiated with the chaotic disposition of mutants worldwide, retuned to his homeland with a vision: he wanted to create a place where he could teach and guide mutants like himself of all ages.

Being exceedingly wealthy, Kaine built a mansion in upstate New York -- the Kaine Institute (nicknamed "Haven"), a boarding house of sorts that serves as a school for youngsters and older folks alike who are in need of mutant guidance. The Institute is known to the outside world as a school for the gifted.

Name Jade "Six" Mackenzie
Creed Mutant (Sixth Sense)
Affiliation Mutant Research Movement / Scorpion Gang
Nationality American (New Yorker, second generation Irish)
Description Tall, red-haired bombshell; wears sunglasses at all times to hide discolored eyes. Unfortunately neglects her appearance. Devil-may-care attitude.
Character notes

Jade was a perfectly normal kid, with a typical street kid, lower class background, until she was thirteen, at which time she was struck by a car on her way to school in a hit and run. She survived, but her sight did not. Perhaps triggered by the accident, or perhaps it was simply time, her mutant ability manifested itself not long after she'd been discharged from the hospital, compensating in many ways for her lack of sight. When he became aware of her, Professor Kaine extended the same offer to her, as he did to all the other mutants he found. Jade discussed it with her parents, and decided that perhaps Kaine's school was the best place for her.

Not everyone was as understanding of her powers as her parents and Professor Kaine, however. Several of her old, human friends, horrified that she was actually a mutant, set fire to her home the same night she'd decided to go to Professor Kaine's. Both of her parents died in the blaze, but Jade herself was saved by a mysterious figure named only Silk, leader of the Scorpion Gang, who made her a counter offer to Professor Kaine's. Rather than offering her protection, he offered her revenge, and she accepted, slipping through Professor Kaine's grasp, and joining the Scorpion Gang.

She trained rigorously under Silk, who had no few uses for her powers, until she was 21, at which point he decided she had no more to learn, and had developed her powers to their full extent. He promoted her to the position of his partner. She remained in that position until recently, when those above Silk decided it was time for her to be 'promoted' again and given a new objective, as well as a new partner in Shade.

Together the two currently work for the Mutant Research Movement, and its mysterious founder, known only as G.

Name Senator Karl Marx
Creed Human
Affiliation None, but is a known anti-mutant
Nationality American
Description Average height and build, short dark hair, dark eyes. In his early forties. Wears dark business suits. Carries himself with importance.
Character notes

Marx is one of the most viable presidential candidates to hit the States for a good many years. He is a strong supporter of the Mutant Registration Act and has no trouble backing up his ideals when in the spotlight. Marx is a glib speaker and can rationalize just about anything. He spent some time in the U.S. military before going into law and finally into local politics.

It is rumoured that despite his neutral stance, Marx is actually a secret supporter of the Humanist Liberation Community movement.

Character notes Silk is the leader of the infamous Scorpion Gang, single most powerful gang on the streets of New York. Enigmatic and hard to pin down, Silk is a known womanizer (and quite good at it), and has an almost fanatically loyal following among his gang. Very little is known about him before he formed the Scorpion Gang, but it’s rumored that he has some kind of connection to G, most likely monetary.

Name M.A. "Doc" Skidmore
Creed Human
Affiliation Meta-X
Nationality American
Description Tall, heavyset, short reddish hair, receding hairline, freckles, light blue eyes. In his early fourties.

A former fellow student and close friend of Dr. Kaine, he followed Kaine’s invitation to take over the medical care of the mansion’s inhabitants. He has extensive knowledge about mutant physiology and also a degree in psychology.

Doc’s bedside manner might need some work, but despite his grumpy attitude he cares deeply for the people in his charge. He’s a gifted physician and has great insight into the human – and mutant – soul. Rumour has it that some of Joseph Kaine’s psion powers rubbed off on him since he has an uncanny feeling about the state of mind of the people around him. He also doubles as the mansion’s counsellor.

He adamantly refuses to disclose his first and middle name.

Name Marcellis "Shade" Sinclair
Creed Mutant (Invisibility)
Affiliation Mutant Research Movement
Nationality Canadian
Description Average height and build; chin-length black hair with turned-up ends, pale blue eyes. Dresses cleanly. Malicious and petty.
Character notes

Marcellis is the only child of Richard Sinclair, a Canadian diplomat who's loyalties lie with the underground mutant research movement headed by the mysterious G. Though not his biological mother, Maegan O'Reily serves a matronly role in Marcellis' life; she is Richard's sham-wife, an arrangement made in coordination with Richard's superiors in an effort to facilitate foreign affairs. Marcellis' real mother is unknown to him.

Marcellis (Marcy for short) is and has always been a spoiled individual. Richard's occupation kept his pockets full and assured him and his following a most comfortable lifestyle; good food, rich company, lush living, and much travel. To Richard's annoyance, it was made known to him that G's cause requested that he keep Marcellis with him until adolescence, a time at which G's agents insisted the boy would express a mutant gene (neither Richard nor Marcy's biological mother are mutants). As such, the young man was swept under Miss Maegan's skirt and tended to only sporadically by Richard, who was busy with his own affairs and saw the boy as a nuisance.

At thirteen, as pre-determined by G's agents, Marcellis clearly defined himself as a mutant. Through willful manipulation of light, the boy learned that he could change visual perspectives – the most blatant application being that he could turn himself or whatever else invisible. As though it had all been chalked up somewhere and was only waiting for validation, Marcy suddenly became entwined in a series of plans. He continued his travels with Richard, who was less present in his life than ever but doubly more important, and followed the path that had been laid out for him by his father's superiors. For the next few years, he met group after group of perfect strangers all over the world who proceeded to give him intensive yet short-duration training in a variety of special-operations disciplines. Though young, Marcy could do naught but learn; by his father and many others, things were explained to him in a manner that he would understand: G, mutants, the research program. It was explained to him that he would serve as a spy of sorts, a valuable tool that he was proud to serve his father's cause as.

At eighteen, through an involved process that was more than a little fixed and many times re-negotiated, Marcellis gained cover under the Canadian Security Intelligence Service as an employee. There, all records of Marcy's existence were promptly destroyed, giving him the ultimate freedom that his superiors sought for him. A few months later, Marcy was asked to move to the United States, where he would serve G himself as a bodyguard in the New York region.

Now, at twenty-one, Marcellis is the subject of something of a promotion. No longer bodyguard to G, Marcy has been partnered with fellow mutant Jade Mackenzie and placed under the responsibility of Blade, one of G's personal operatives. Along with Jade, he now spearheads special operations upon request.
