Now that I have your attention, see below for a couple updates:
After much procrastinating (so much, in fact, that I can't quite remember exactly why I
was procrastinating), I finally decided to upgrade FS Connect to the newer XMB build. I'm hoping
to start working on the forums on Friday afternoon (assuming I can get some hours off work), but
if that doesn't happen, I'll be doing it all day Sunday for sure. Either way, by Sunday night the
upgrade should be complete and the forums should be up and running again.
What this means to you:
a) FS Connect will be up and down starting Friday and ending Sunday night, so please limit your
access during that time. I'd really prefer that you avoid the forums entirely until
Sunday night, but if you do pop in, please take it easy and be gentle *pets new database*.
b) Starting Sunday, you'll have to sign up for a new account; the existing member list won't be
ported over (for a couple reasons that Rose and I agreed on). We know that some users are attached
to their current standing (rank/post count-wise), so we've taken screencaps of everyone's current
status and can manually match them on the new forum. We will however be creating a new rank set,
so your old title will be matched with the equivalent, new title. If you're interested in reclaiming
your old forum rank, please send a U2U or email to Rose and/or I and we'll do what we can to hook you
up.
c) The existing forum structure (for the most part) will remain the same; we won't be removing
any niches, only clearing them of all current posts. The X-RP forum breakdown will remain as it is,
including all existing user permissions affecting thread visibility. In general, if there's a post
you want to keep, drop it into a .TXT file or whatever and keep it, as I won't be archiving anything
except through special request (/love Bran).
d) The forum URL will remain the same, so you don't have to redo your bookmarks & whatnot.
e) The U2U interface will change completely; it'll look more like a mini webmail client than the
shitty bulletin board-esque thing it was before. I haven't played around with it much so far, but I
plan to after Sunday.
f) There will be some new features available to you that you can discover when you (re)sign up.
In short, it's all pretty f-ing spiffy and I'm sure I've not yet ventured into half as much as I
should've before performing the upgrade, but...whatever. Worse come to worse I can just wipe the DB
and reinstall the old code! Heh heh...just kidding. At any rate, be sure to send me feedback when
you pop back on after Sunday.
I think that pretty much covers the big stuff. If I think of anything earth-shattering, I'll post
an addendum. In addition, Rose put a news ticker-thing up on the forum yesterday to warn folks about
the imminent upgrade; should anything of great importance come up, I'll ask her to make it public on
the forums as well, just in case, as the readership here and the readership on the forum are
surprisingly diverse.

A couple weeks ago, I was soundly defeated in the battle of Get a Cat Now VS Get a Cat When We Get

Her name's Yuna. We were expecting a boy cat, so we prepared a bunch of boy names; we came up with
'Yuna' on the spot at the Humane Society, 'cause FFX was still too fresh. It was that or 'Space Bitch',
which was also still fresh. In my opinion, I think we made the right choice.
Also, we beat Kingdom Hearts 2. All I have to say is
